We believe it is important to provide our pupils with rich experiences as part of their development by visiting different places and engaging in activities away from school. Trips offer a fantastic opportunity for pupils to take part, discover and enjoy a range of things, and practice their social skills in new and less familiar settings. We ensure trips are suitable and relevant to their age group and are linked to a relevant part of the curriculum.
Parents are asked to complete a permissions letter at the beginning of the year for local trips, or a letter is sent home to give permission for their child to attend trips out of school, especially when the event goes beyond normal school hours. At times a packed lunch and/or special clothing is required.
Some lessons are located away from school to support different areas of the curriculum, including local parks, supermarkets, swimming, sports fixtures, Just Ride cycling, residential trips and college.
