Areas in the History Curriculum covered are Tudors, Britain in the First and Second World War, Egypt and Local History. Lessons are taught using a range of hands-on lessons using artefacts, simple research and visits to museums and historical buildings. We even had a World War 2 sleepover in our school hall where the pupils experienced what life in the Blitz would have been like and created a replica air raid shelter.
Areas covered in Geography Curriculum are rivers, settlements, rainforests and local Geography. Lessons are taught as research, field work and hands on experiences wherever possible. We have recently visited Kew Gardens as part of our rainforest topic to touch, smell and feel what life in the rainforest would be like. We compare and contrast our local area to other places in the world and look at culture, food, climate and features of other countries.
