We place a premium on the delivery of PSHCE with careful consideration given to ability, age, additional needs and physical development of our pupils.
PHSCE at St Nicholas is delivered through the Personal Development Program (PDP) which ensures comprehensive curriculum coverage of PHSCE and associated statutory requirements such as Sex and Relationship Education (SRE). Topics are repeated throughout KS3 and 4 to ensure they are revised and built upon as out pupils grow older. KS4 also complete the Gateway Qualification PSE unit.
PHSCE is delivered in four key areas:
Myself and My Relationships. Including anti-bullying, belonging to groups, family and friends, managing changes and dealing with emotions.
Healthy and Safer Lifestyles. Including healthy lifestyles, personal safety, managing risk, drug education, growing up and changes to our bodies and sex and relationship education.
Citizenship. Including British Values, diversity and communities, the larger world, rights rules and responsibilities and working with others.
Economic Well-being. Including careers and employability and financial Capability
