Post 16 Provision
Ensuring that our students move from us to the most suitable 16+ provision for them so their needs can continue to be met is important to us. In order to get this right we work closely with a wide range of providers and the Southend Local Authority ‘Connexions’ team.
We spend significant time in KS4 particularly visiting these providers, and sharing our suggestions of where students may go next during Year 10 and 11 annual reviews. We also hold a 16+ evening each year in early November where parents from all Year 10 and 11 students are invited in to meet with representatives of 16+ providers and servies.

South Essex College is located in the middle of Southend just off the High Street. It is a large busy college with a specialist SEND department.

The USP Seevic Campus is located on Kiln Road in Thundersley. It is a large college offering a variety of courses including ones specifically aimed at students with SEND.

The Southend Adult Community College is in Ambleside Drive in Southchurch. It is a smaller college offering a variety of courses aimed at students with SEND

Lancaster School is a designated Community Special School for students aged 14-19 with a range of complex needs: severe learning difficulties (SLD) and profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), neurological impairments, complex physical and medical difficulties, alongside students with moderate learning difficulties who may need additional social and emotional support before transferring to local colleges at post 19.
